 Find the most suitable suppliers for your existing or new products
Based on our excellent knowledge about each region’s production focus and well-established, long-term oriented and trusted business relations with an already large and ever growing portfolio of suppliers we source and buy where the best value for money is being produced. For new to develop products (at present mainly automotive parts) our team members will coordinate the development process with the customer and supplier.
Carefully select the supplier base
We will carefully evaluate and select suppliers via factory audits, especially for first-time products/suppliers, and by verifying references, certifications (ISO, QS, TS etc.), QC Systems etc. Appropriate samples of products will be supplied which can be tested and approved by our customers.
Negotiate, conclude and manage procurement contracts
Due to Melcher’s long history of business relations with Asian-Pacific companies, we have good reputation and experience to successfully engage in, conclude and manage contracts with the selected suppliers.
Audit and monitor suppliers during the manufacturing process.
Most of the Melchers suppliers are producing for export, the majority is also producing for and selling to the European and North-American market, some of them are established OEM-manufactures, i.e. their quality meets European and North-American standards. Further coordination of quality inspections through independent third parties (e.g. TUEV, SGS etc.) can be conducted.
Conduct pre-shipment quantity and quality controls
If the products arrive at the country of destination with inferior quantity or quality it will often require substantial investments in substitute products/deliveries. Our teams will therefore conduct pre-shipment quantity and quality control to prevent unwanted surprises.
Choose and coordinate best & most economic shipping services
We will find and coordinate forwarder that provides the best & most economic service for you to ensure smooth delivery to your respective country of destination. We regularly update our databases for the lowest rates to your destinations and consolidate in most of our offices, warehouses and packaging centers to further reduce shipping costs for LCL shipments (Low Container Loads).
Management and documentation of export & import procedures and regulations
We will manage and ensure proper documentation of all shipments (e.g. commercial invoice, packing list, B/L, Certificate of Country Origin etc.) for a smooth handling of export and import procedures and keep you updated about potential changes in export and import regulations, e.g. ad-hoc implementation of export or import taxes.
One face to the customer
All these services are provided to you out of one hand. You will have only one contract partner; all communication as well as payments will be through or to only one party (Melchers Trading GmbH – Taiwan Branch). No need to coordinate different suppliers, forwarders and other third parties (e.g. TUEV, SGS) in multiple Asian-Pacific countries. Therefore, not only large customers, but also customers with small or medium size procurement departments rely on our services.
Multinational team in various locations
In order to manage these services successfully our dedicated export team is based in different locations in Greater China and consists of Taiwanese, Chinese and German colleagues. Our team in Taiwan coordinates the complete purchasing process between our customers and the suppliers in Asia. With China being our biggest supply market, we have a purchasing team located in our Melchers office in Shanghai, which enables us to closely monitor onsite the production processes and quality control of our various suppliers.
